Meet the Team
Northwest Agency is a family owned and operated insurance founded in 1973 by Jim’s father, John. Jim joined the agency in 1978 after graduating from college, and has maintained the agency since then. Dawn joined the agency in 2014. We are excited to introduce Trevor Nelson who joined the agency in 2023.
When you call us, you will be speaking with an agent who is a member of your community and not a big city call center.
We offer home, farm & ranch (including equestrian), auto (including SR-22), recreational vehicles, crop, commercial, and life insurance. Whatever kind of insurance you are looking for, we’re your huckleberry!

Jim and Dawn have been married since 1981, have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. They are happiest in the outdoors and most weekends you will find then at their cabin having fun and making memories with family and friends hiking, fishing and riding our ATV’s, or just sitting on the porch soaking in the scenery and enjoying the peace and tranquility of these Wyoming mountains.
Trevor is a graduate of Cody High School. While attending Cody High School, he made the controversial but wise move to date a girl from Powell High School. They have been married for over 20 years. Trevor, his wife and their two children enjoy making the most of the Wyoming outdoors by hiking, camping, and fishing. If they aren’t in the mountains or on the water, they are probably on a baseball or softball field.
